10K Run for Hope Welfare Trust (HWT) in Kashmir
Hello friends and the extended community, we have decided to organise a 10k running contest in Kashmir on the 25th November 2020.
The purpose of this event is to promote health and fitness in Kashmir as well as to raise much needed funds to support Hope Welfare Trust a charity that is very close to our heart.
Some background information on HWT
Hope Welfare Trust has been delivering many projects for several years:
- Hope Welfare Hospital, providing much needed maternity facilities in rural Kashmir for the purpose of reducing preventable deaths & complications which occur frequently due to the lack of maternity facilities, This state of the art hospital provided free treatment to the poor and have had 100's of babies born in a safe and pleasant environment.
- Orphan/Poor education support - over 400 students supported for thier academic support.
- Housing for the poor predominately widows, disabled, and orphan children provided safe shelter.
- Water projects providing clean safe drinking water
