in support of Save One Life
Since 7 October 2023 more than 8,000 Palestinians have been killed which includes over 2,300 children and over 16,000 injured – the majority in Gaza. Around 1.4 million more have been forced to flee their homes from the relentless and indiscriminate bombardment of Gaza, which has targeted residential areas, schools, medical facilities and mosques.
Innocent civilians are facing relentless and devastating attacks. They urgently need help to access humanitarian aid.
In response to this devastating humanitarian crisis in Gaza we have launched an emergency appeal to support the people affected.
People are in desperate need of our help. Please donate today.
What is Save One Life doing to help?
Save One Life is on the ground in Gaza distributing cash aid to provide immediate relief to those who desperately need it.
In addition, cash aid can be used to help rebuild homes, restore livelihoods, and start to bring normality back into their lives, once the blockade is eased. Given the scale of destruction and human suffering currently taking place, we know there will be a critical need for this.
Important FAQs about how we deliver cash aid during the blockade
How is Save One Life able to distribute cash aid if the banks are closed and there is a blockade?
Save One Life is in touch with our people on the ground in Gaza. There remain levels of cash aid that are accessible and being distributed. We are using these existing cash reserves to ensure aid is going to those who need it most.
As well as providing immediate relief to those who desperately need it, your cash aid will be critical when the blockade is lifted and will help to rebuild homes, restore livelihoods, and start to bring normality back into their lives.
What will people use the cash for if goods are being blockaded into Gaza?
There are still stocks of goods and supplies available in areas of Gaza prior to the blockade which can be purchased. Due to the blockade, the prices of existing goods are rising and therefore cash aid is even more critical to help people source essential items that they need.
As well as providing immediate relief to those who desperately need it, cash aid can be used to help rebuild homes, restore livelihoods, and start to bring normality back into their lives, once the blockade is over.
How can Save One Life guarantee that peoples donations are reaching those in need and not going towards the war?
We support the people of Gaza with cash aid, so they are empowered with a choice in how to meet their essential living needs. We have a list of all beneficiary names who receive our aid to ensure it is going to those in need. We also have people on the ground who carry out spot checks against this list to ensure the aid has been received by them
We are regulated by the Charity Commission in the UK and have been operating in Gaza for 4 years, whilst the 17-year blockade has been in place. Since 2020 we have successfully distributed over £2 million in cash aid to people in need in Gaza.
