AsalamuAlaykum brothers and sisters.

I pray that you are all in the best of health and Eman.

In a year that has brought so much uncertainty and disruption to our lives affecting not only our health but our work and finances, I pray that we do not forget our fellow Ummah around the world that are indeed much less fortunate than us.

With the power of Allah, I ask that we are able to come together in order to raise funds for the construction of a Masjid in a rural community in Uganda with the capacity of accommodating up to 200 people at any one time.

The challenge

In order to help fund raise for this Masjid, my 10 year old son Suliman has volunteered to take on the challenge of doing one pushup for every pound that is raised Inshallah! Yes, you read that right, one pushup per £ raised which means a total of 5,000 pushups!

Now we all know that any challenge involving a set of pushups is not for the faint hearted and is something that many people usually aspire to conquering so spare a thought for Suliman (who is just 10 years old!) and please show your support by donating whatever you can and in doing so you can really help transform the lives of the most vulnerable communities.

The Project

The price tag of the new masjid stands at £5,000.

The cost breakdown is as follows:

£5000

To build a new 1,000 Square ft Masjid including a wudhu area, prayer mats and Qurans.

This will also include a Madrasah that will provide free Islamic education to the Muslim community of Uganda and will play a vital role in spreading literacy amongst those that are not fortunate enough to be able to afford it.

As we all know, Madrasahs are the backbone of our society. Islam cannot be preserved without educating the younger generation.

This sadaqah-e-jariyah is a beautiful and blessed form of charity that offers ongoing rewards in both this world and the hereafter.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (continuing charity), knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him”.
