Don’t just sponsor an orphan for the short term, educate an orphan and help provide them with a life changing opportunity.
This Ramadhan I am fundraising for As-Suffa Relief to help provide an outstanding education for orphans and street children, in Bangladesh, The Gambia, Pakistan and Syria.
In these 4 countries alone, there are over 12 million orphans and around 5 million street children.
The large majority of these orphans are living in poverty or substandard conditions, therefore not having sufficient nutrition, nor any chance of an education to better their future.
Many orphans have a high chance of psychological disorders, they are often traumatised and will suffer from severe mental conditions. Not having any access to any form of education or contact with any other children, they can tend to have a lack of confidence and have very little social skills.
The As-Suffa schools of excellence give the children access to a free outstanding education in the English medium. The children are also given an Islamic Education, as well as physical education lessons such as cricket, football and much more. One of the most enjoyable and favourite activities of the children is the MMA lessons, which teaches them self-defence, confidence and discipline.
Most orphans who receive sponsorship through charities, will stop receiving support once they turn 16, in which case they are left to try fend for themselves. Many will struggle as through a lack of education or life skills, they will find it difficult to get work, leaving many to turn to begging on the streets.
This Ramadhan we not only want to raise funds to support orphans but we want to raise life changing funds to educate orphans and street children, in Bangladesh, The Gambia, Pakistan and Syria.
Together we really hope to raise the funds to help change to future of hundreds of orphans and street children.
