This earthquake, measuring a formidable magnitude of 6.8, had its epicenter located in the High Atlas mountains, approximately 72 kilometers southwest of Marrakech. The quake's destructive force wreaked havoc on buildings and critical infrastructure, leaving thousands of people homeless. The challenges faced by rescue teams are immense, as they laboriously strive to reach survivors. Many roads leading to remote mountainous regions have been obliterated or obstructed by debris, making the relief efforts exceedingly difficult.
