UPDATE - The Myriad Hub: 

The process for submitting an application for obtaining approval of work has taken over two years. Alhamdulillah, we were granted approval in 2023 and Phase 1 of the scheduled work is now complete. 

What did Phase 1 include?

- A complete rebuilding and refurbishment of the roof of the building using the original tiles.  

- Repairing and repointing the complete exterior brickwork of the building

- Replacing the complete outside guttering

- Remaking and replacing the barges

- Gutting the inside of the building and taking it back to the brick

- This cost us cicra £100k

We now need to proceed with Phase 2 of scheduled work which will include rewiring, repiping and all aspects of finishing and furnishing. The estimated cost for this is £140k and we are short by £80k

Who are the the Myriad Foundation

We are a UK-based Muslim led organisation which established in the September of 2013 when a small collective of like-minded individuals recognised the potential of developing an organisation which centered around Islamic beliefs. The organisation was set up as a platform primarily for Muslims to be able to practice their faith in a way which demonstrated it's true values and by doing so, fostering relationships and friendships which helped create understanding and shed some of the deliberate misconceptions spread in the media and by some populist politicians about Islam and Muslims. To this day, the organisation is 100% volunteer led.

Our Vision

To grow our collective of like-minded individuals and develop a unique Community Hub in the heart of Manchester promoting a cohesive society which tackles poverty and isolation among socioeconomically challenged demographics of society. To cultivate an organisation with shared Islamic beliefs and to continue to challenge misconceptions surrounding Muslims and Islam by sharing the true teachings of our religion to the drive strong long lasting relationships with diverse faith, welfare, charity and educational groups to leave a lasting legacy for our communities.

Appeal Overview

In 2013 when we established the Myriad Foundation we had a vision: to work for the greater good of humanity by sharing the message of Islam, and through sincere and dedicated efforts, make a valuable contribution to society. Our dedication in making a positive change to our communities has always centered around a core Islamic ethos. For the last ten years the Myriad Foundation has grown thanks to the commitment and energy of our brilliant diverse volunteers and the collaborations we have set up with many local, national and global organisations. We are pleased to share with you our excitement for the future of the Myriad Foundation. Alhamdulillah, we have acquired a great space which will be the dynamic hub of our old and new activities in the heart of Manchester. We will ask you for your ideas, listen to what our communities need and work collaboratively to create services that enrich our communities. But now we need your help to redevelop this space to make it fit for our services.

What do we do?

Now that would be very hard to summarise, but if we could, we're an established social outreach and educational organisation. Check out our short and longer videos that have been embedded to find out more.

What else will this new Community Hub have that the Myriad Foundation do not already do?

Imagine a community space with a growing hub where you can grow your own shared herbs and vegetables. Services linked in with local health initiatives to help with skills and wellbeing as part of the big NHS Social Prescribing drive. Imagine a community cafe where you can have subsidised meals or take advantage of a suspended meal if you can not afford one. Imagine a space for even more social and educational services tailored for the youth and the elderly. A safe space for vulnerable adults to come and receive confidential services to help them out of their predicament. A community hub with versatile multifunctional rooms and halls for social events and an outdoor space for the times we are lucky enough to have some good warm sunny weather.

This is what we envisage as the new Myriad Foundation's Community Hub - which is yet to be named!
