The Prophet (peace be upon him) was asked, what is Udhiyyah (Qurbani)?’ He replied, ‘It is the Sunnah of your father Ibrahim (peace be upon him).’
Qurbani is a highly blessed and virtuous act, with the number of sins forgiven equal to the number of hair on the body of the sacrificed animal.
Give your Qurbani from £14
You can help millions of people living in poverty to celebrate Eid ul-Adha with the rest of us, by giving as little as £14. Your Qurbani donations help provide quality meals to families in need.
Qurbani is the act of offering the sacrifice of an animal to Allah (SWT) on Eid ul-Adha and is one of the obligatory acts of Hajj, the fifth pillar of Islam.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“For every hair of the Qurbani, you will receive a reward from Allah (SWT)”.
– Tirmidhi
Riders of Shaam, through One Nation, our registered UK Charity partner, will facilitate your Qurbani in India.
The Charity understand the importance of quality sourcing from hard-working farmers, and they work closely with their partners to ensure Qurbani animals are raised healthily and according to Qurbani rules. The teams on the ground will ensure every needy family can enjoy a nutritious meal for this Qurbani Eid with their share of the Qurbani donation.
The charity will use your donations to carefully select animals that are suitable for Qurbani and carry out the sacrifice on your behalf. They will make sure that the Qurbani is done on the days of Eid in that country and that the fresh meat is delivered as soon as possible so that the needy can enjoy the blessings of Eid.

NASIHA / ADVICE AROUND DHUL HIJJAH / QURBANI
1. It is recommended to fast on the first nine days of Dhul Hijjah, especially on the 9th which is the blessed day of Arafah.
“Fasting on the day of Arafah is an expiation for the preceding year and the following year.”
2. Reciting the Takbeeraat-e-Tashreeq from the 9th to the 13th of Dhul Hijjah:
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Laa ilaaha illallahu Wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Wa lillahil Hamd.
Men can recite the above after every fardh salaat from Fajr of the 9th of Dhul Hijjah until Asr of the 13th of Dhul Hijjah audibly. Women should recite it silently.
3. Offering the Qurbani (sacrifice of a livestock animal)
4. Reciting the Qur’an abundantly and giving in charity
5. The scholars have mentioned that it is Mustahab for one doing Qurbani to abstain from cutting one’s nails and hair during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.
