إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون
We certainly belong to Allah, and to Him, we are bound to return
We commanded man (to be good) in respect of his parents. His mother carried him (in her womb) despite weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. (We said to man,) "Be grateful to Me, and to your parents. To Me is the ultimate return."
Surah Luqman, Verse 14
At the time of Fajr on Monday 26th February 2024 (coinciding with the 16th Sha'ban 1445 Hijri), Almighty Allah had chosen to take back His servant, our beloved mother Mir Shamsun Nehar Begum رحمها الله تعالى at the age of 56.
In her last moments, she expressed a serene acceptance, stating that she no longer experienced pain and had no need for medication or intervention, as she found solace in Allah Ta'ala. Until her very last breath, instead of fear or regret, she embraced the anticipation of meeting her Creator and uttered the kalimah repeatedly, embodying a sense of tranquillity.
For the past 6 or so years, she courageously fought against Multiple Myeloma, a form of bone marrow cancer, enduring numerous cycles of chemotherapy. Ultimately, in an act of divine elevation, Allah Ta'ala chose to elevate her status by calling her back to Him as a martyr, through an abdominal disease leading to multiple organ failure.
She was selfless, full of love and care, and consistently prioritising others throughout her lifetime. Possessing a tender and compassionate spirit, she maintained a close and profound connection with her faith through the Qur'an, Salah, and Dhikr. Her deep admiration for scholars, both here in the UK and abroad, was evident, as she tirelessly sought opportunities to support them. She was engaged in helping others and was active in running and participating in charitable causes.
We know from Hadith that all deeds end except an ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah) and that whoever builds a house for Allah Ta'ala, Allah Ta'ala will build a house in Paradise for him.
Therefore in her memory, as Sadaqah Jariyah, we aim to fundraise and build a much-needed Masjid in the Barisal District of Bangladesh. The Masjid will feature a water aspect for Wudhu and wider use for the community.
Please donate whatever you can, for even the smallest donation can make the biggest difference!

Finally, we ask that you please spare a few moments to make a heartfelt du'a for her.
We pray that Allah Ta'ala grant her the highest stations of Jannah al-Firdous and reunites us there.
