Insha’Allah, it is our intention to climb mount Snowdon on Sunday 18th September 2022 to raise money and awareness for the people of Kashmir who are in desperate need of humanitarian aid. The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ)said: ‘“The earth on the Day of Resurrection will be scorching, except for the shadow of a believer, for verily his charity will serve him as shade.” 

Years of political instability and conflict have taken their toll on the communities of Kashmir. Since August 5^th 2019, consecutive mass lockdowns/curfews have left families vulnerable and unable to leave their homes. Reports show that 38% of the Kashmir population faces food insecurity on a daily basis, 14% of the people of Kashmir severely lack access to food. Thousands of people mostly refugees live in campsites across Kashmir. Kashmiris living near the line of control face the hardship of bullets and bombs on a weekly basis.

The money that we raise collectively will go towards helping some of the needy people of Kashmir. Through the charity Families Relief, which has a 100% donation policy, we will be able to supply food parcels at a cost of £28.50 each.  As well as tube wells (£400 each), which will provide water to 7-8 families. The food parcels consist of flour, salt, potatoes, chickpeas, dates, milk, tea, rice and cooking oil. These essential items will greatly help the daily lives and alleviate some of the hunger of the people in the area. Kashmir has come under grave humanitarian assault, and its people now find themselves in tremendous need of your help and prayers. May Allah Most High ease the difficulty of the Kashmiri people.
