in support of Ummah Welfare Trust

Assalaamu alaykum.
I hope you are well and thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
I am taking on the challenge of climbing Ben Lomond which is located next to Loch Lomond near Glasgow. The trek is taking place on Saturday 19th of August and is in aid of supporting orphans in Afghanistan. I am using the charity Ummah Welfare Trust who are initiating an amazing project of building an Orphanage.
Ummah Welfare Trust wants to write a new chapter for these children. In the country’s eastern Khost province, the charity plans to build a new educational complex for 1,500 orphaned children.
Mirroring the charity’s flagship Ummah Children’s Academy in Pakistan, the centre will offer orphans the best Islamic and contemporary education that Afghanistan can offer, inshaAllah.
‘The best house among the Muslims is one where an orphan is well treated, and the worst house among the Muslims is one where an orphan is badly treated.’
[Ibn Majah]

Afghanistan has suffered forty years of terrible hardship. Families here have known nothing but poverty and war. And, sadly, they’ve known even less of Muslims from afar coming to their assistance.
Children today make up more than half of the country’s impoverished population. The decades of conflict have left huge number of them as orphans.
Orphaned children remain the poorest demographic in Afghanistan’s sea of poverty. Many must work or beg from the age of 5 to survive. Only a fortunate few learn basic literacy. And even less learn to a higher degree.
‘Fear the tears of the orphan and prayers of the oppressed, because they travel at night whilst everyone is sleeping.’

I hope you could contribute towards this project by donating generously. And I would also appreciate it if you could encourage your friends and family to have a share in this noble cause as well.
May Allah ta'ala reward you in abundance.
